    18% of Microsoft licenses purchased are not allocated

    Microsoft is increasing monthly fees for most Office 365 and Microsoft 365 subscriptions effective March 1, 2022. The net effect is an increase between 9 and 25%. One thing is certain, the new prices will make tenant admins pay more attention to license management, especially since Office 365 and Microsoft 365 licenses eat up a large portion of the annual IT budget. Failure to actively measure and manage these licenses often results in two costly challenges:

    • Overspending: Your total number of licenses exceeds the allocated number.
    • Underutilization: Poor user adoption means allocated licenses go unused.

    Quest License Lifecycle Management (LLM) provides all the insights into license allocations and usage that customers need to effectively manage their license spend.

    With LLM, you can, among other things:
    • Run data reports that help you analyze:
      • Allocation of 365 licenses by user/department and workload/license;

      • Actual usage of allocated licenses;

      • Actual usage of workloads (e.g. EXO, OD4B, Teams, etc.);

      • Indicative savings that can be achieved through optimization.

    • Perform license checks - for example, by delegating license distribution.
    • Run reports to measure and manage change as an ongoing process.
    Watch the below to see by example what LLM can do for you.
