WatchGuard introduces AuthPoint: multi-factor authentication for SMBs

With AuthPoint, WatchGuard is introducing a powerful, simple, cloud-based MFA service for SMBs designed to eliminate and protect risks. AuthPoint offers following functionalities:

AuthPoint app

The AuthPoint mobile phone app gives the user an overview of all sign-in attempts. The app uses push notifications, one-time passwords or QR codes for those without an internet connection. The app also supports third-party solutions such as Google Authenticator, Facebook, Dropbox access and more.

DNA from mobile devices

WatchGuard developed an innovative approach to user authentication, called Mobile Device DNA. Mobile device DNA distinguishes cloned login attempts from legitimates. The AuthPoint app creates personalized 'DNA signatures' for users' devices and passes them on to the authentication process. Authentication messages that do not belong to a legitimate user are refused.

Cloud-based management

The AuthPoint service is a cloud-based solution with a convenient, intuitive interface that allows companies to deploy and implement reports and assessments. AuthPoint works entirely from the cloud and does not require equipment on location. This saves on expensive implementation and management activities.

Third party integrations

The ecosystem of WatchGuard provides in dozens of third-party integrations with AuthPoint. In this way, organizations can use the authentication process for all sorts of sensitive cloud applications, VPNs and networks. More support for AuthPoint the SAML standard, with a single login procedure to access a wide range of applications.
