About
Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) is a solution from the Microsoft Azure portfolio to offer remote workstations based on Windows 10. AVD has an optimal user experience due to its integration with Office 365 and a Windows 10 workstation. In addition, AVD is a cheaper alternative due to the pay-as-you-go model. This allows end customers to scale up and down flexibly and automatically. Finally, you benefit from less management of servers due to the responsibility that Microsoft takes in this area.
• More modern, because it is based on Windows 10 instead of Windows Server
• Safer, for example through native integration with Azure MFA and Conditional Access
• Cheaper, because of various licensing benefits and Azure's pay-per-user pricing model
