During Cybersec Europe, Copaco will demonstrate the important role of the IT reseller in video surveillance projects and which brands can be used for cybersecurity projects. This includes a look at important differences between on-premise installations and cloud-based systems. Which system are you behind as a reseller? When you customer is hit by a cybersecurity incident, it is critical to be able to rebuild applications, services and systems from known good data.  There are 3 critical and interlocking parts to this.

1. First storing a copy of your critical data in storage that is Isolated from the production environment. Bad actors have become more sophisticated over time and now realize that companies will simply try to restore from local backups. These local backups are now also targeted and under threat from Ransomware – in many cases making them unavailable for restore. Only by having an isolated copy of this backup can you ensure that this does not happen.
2. Second, once isolated, this data needs to remain fixed, unchangeable. Immutability ensures that the data cannot be altered within the isolated environment by malware that has potentially been copied into the isolated environment.
3. In the event of a cyber incident, the critical stage is knowing what information, what data is known to be good – unencrypted. Thus, the third step is having the Intelligence within the Isolated and immutable storage to identify the right copies of data to effectively rebuild your applications and services. Also, since ransomware can (and will) be copied into your Isolated and Immutable storage, it is also important to know when this has occurred, what files are affected and what the source (type) of ransomware it is.
